Hi
I have installed MQ6.0 CSD8 on windows server . Currently my log path is local .
But is it possible to network log paths with MQ6.0?

Why would you want to. You want to trust the logging and recovery of your data over a network.

I just want to get information about MQ activities ..ofcourse Recovery over network wont be possible ..

What activities? As in "AMQERR01.LOG" activities? or activities that are recorded via "Event Messages"? You shouldn't be using the "Recovery Logs" to track activities.

IMHO there's an adequate coverage of this subject in the *ix MQ Quick Beginnings manuals. Here's the link to the relevant section for AIX : http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv6/v6r0/topic/com.ibm.mq.amqaac.doc/amqqb0107.htm
In short: almost all qmgr data (including the /var/mqm/log files) should be local, for performance and reliability reasons. But some data (specifically, the qmgr admin log files) can be remote.
I didn't see the equivalent section in the QB manual for Windows - but maybe I didn't look hard enough. |
