Hi all,
I'm pretty new to Workflow. But was given the task of installing and configuring Websphere Workflow 3.4 on AIX 5.3. I installed most of the filesets except for the default configuration files(it failed).
But I still continued to configure the workflow. I have been using the default options most of the time. But I guess there is problem in configuring the run time database. There are a couple of instances(db2inst1 & db2inst4) on the machine, db2inst4 being used for Message Broker and db2inst1, no idea!
Do I need to create a seperate instance for the run time database or can I use an existing instance which is already being used by the broker?
Can some one kindly guide me in this regard.
Thanks in advance,
Veeresh Kory. |

you can use any instance as long you catalogue the workflow database. _________________ Thanks

Well, cataloging I guess is only for remote databases. For local DB's you don't have to catalog.
Anyway, back to the problem, you don't have to create a new instance but you can use existing instances if you want. You need to source out the db2 instances profile. Follow the steps in the configuration manual. Each step should be carefully followed and shouldn't have any problem.
Perform all the pre configurations steps before you invoke fmczutil.
For example, running fmczinsx commands, sourcing sqllib profile etc. |

Hey guys,
Thanks for ur replies.
I created a new instance and followed the manual. It worked for me. I might have not done properly the previous time with an old instance.
Thank you |

Just FYI: you might want to consider moving to a newer version than #.4 _________________ John McDonald
