What happens to the messages that are published with no subscribers?

Will these messages will be put into DEAD LETTER QUEUE ?

Coz according to MQ concept these messages should be stored somewhere in case of failure

No. The message just disappears. There is no failure if there is no subscriber. It's like shouting in a sound proof room. Nobody cares. It it the way it is designed.

A message is stored for
* each connected subscriber
* each nonconnected durable subscription

If there are no connected subscribers, and no durable subscriptions, no messages are stored.

This rule may well bend if using "retained" publications - I'm not so clear on this without reading up about it in the manual.

If you're using JMS or XMS, then retained publications are not relevant anyway.
