I am aware that MQ V6.0 provides a base compression package. Is there any support pack or any way to use that compression on a channel between 6.0 queue manager and a 5.3 queue manager?

afaik, to use the "built-in" compression, both ends need to support the compression algorithm. V5.3 doesn't support any built-in algorithms ....
