Refreshing a QM and refreshing an explorer are two completely different things.
In explorer, you ask that a new snapshot is made of the QM in question and is displayed. The display is not updated automatically, only on demand.
A queue manager is a dynamic set of processes that WILL refresh automatically - it's a completely different concept - you're talking about a thing, and a representation of that thing. It's like comparing a photograph of a person with the person itself, and noticing the person is more life-like and dynamic (usually)
perhaps you're getting a bit confused with the REFRESH SECURITY option in Unix queue managers - group membership of mqm is discovered and cached at startup, so this command goes out and rediscovers it. |
