Hello,
"Monitoring WebSphere MQ Version 6.0" does not metion the maximum
length of MQCACF_AUX_ERROR_DATA_STR1, MQCACF_AUX_ERROR_DATA_STR2,
and MQCACF_AUX_ERROR_DATA_STR3 parameters of "Channel Stopped" event.
It does mention, however, that one should pass these values to
IBM personel in case of problems regarding this event.
Example values that I have collected:
MQCACF_AUX_ERROR_DATA_STR_1 (code 3026) = "localhost (127.0.0.1)"
MQCACF_AUX_ERROR_DATA_STR_1 (code 3027) = "TCP/IP
MQCACF_AUX_ERROR_DATA_STR_3 (code 3028) = "(send)"
and I can guess that 3026 could mean the channel's host (not the
CONNAME parameter though, because it doesn't contain the port number);
3027 could be transmission protocol name, and 3028 would mean, hm,
I don't know. The channel in question is an SVR, so "send" would
not stand for "sender".
Anyway, is maximum length of those parameters internal to WMQ and it's
not possible to know this? Or is that an omission in the docs?
I can find the parameter length by examining MQCFST's StringLength field
value, but I'm wondering about its maximum length...
thanks,
So |

I'm sure it will never be longer than 104857600 bytes... _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

well, they certainly have to be smaller than the event message itself... since you know that, you'd be able to malloc a big enough buffer to hold them.... _________________ -wayne |
