Hi,
I have a requirement:
A VSAM file is required. This will always contain only one record of length 20.
This record will be read by a program once every 1 minute.
Taking performance also into consideration.
which access method is better ESDS or KSDS _________________ Regards,

IIRC, if you assign the KSDS to a low use LSRPOOL, there's a good chance the CIs will remain in storage and any reference to the record will result in accessing memory vs. disk. |

ThankQ for the reply, rtsujimoto
So you mean to say that if i set these parameters defining file as KSDS would be better compared to Defining it as ESDS _________________ Regards,

Given that it's only 1 record and the access is (for the most part) memory vs. disk, I don't think it makes a difference. |
