Hi There, sorry for the noob question, but I'm very new to MQ, and have been made an administrator (previous MQ specialists left). We're having a problem where one system is using most of the connections available, and as a result maxxing them out. Now I know we can increase the maximum number of connections (and have already) but my system architect wants to try to limit how many connections each channel is allowed to use, so this doesn't get abused. Each system has it's own connection channel, allowing us to know who is connected, so we're talking about 10 SVRCONNs to configure (if possible).
I've browsed the manuals and this forum for any reference to this, and as found no reference to this, and as such am assuming it isn't possible. However we all know what assumptions are...
We're running MQ on Solaris and on Windows boxes. |

You know, I could have sworn I searched for that...
It seems that "connection AND channel AND limit" will return different stuff to "Limiting AND Channel AND Connections".....
Thanks for your help! |

Capitalware makes a Security Exit that does just this. We use it here with great success. Check out the Capitalware forum on this site for more details on it.
IBM also makes a Support pac (ME71 I think), but its only a Cat 2 (no officiall support) and its not as good as the Capitalware solution. _________________ Peter Potkay
