I dont have much knowledge on mainframe side so please bear with novice.
I have an application running on mainframe OS/390 and MQ server on windows. I know that there is no MQ client version defined for mainframe. so how would the application connect to MQ server and put/get the message.

The only way you can put messages to that MQ server on windows is to have a Qmgr on z/OS that will use a normal MQ channel to connect to the windows qmgr.

You will never be able to GET messages from qlocals on the Windows qmgr.

So, really, the only way to have the application communicate with the Windows qmgr is through a z/OS qmgr.
