HI all,

I have come across ESQL where the following construct is used in some places.

SET "OutputRoot"."MQMD"."ReplyToQ"

Can any one tell me how this is different from

SET OutputRoot.MQMD.ReplyToQ.

And why are the "" used?

I think those two are same.
I think the quotes are used if there are spaces or some special characters etc
For example
OutputRoot.XML.Person."First Name"

Or where the fieldname is the same as a "reserved" word.

A lot of the "auto generated" code uses the "double quotes", because it's easier to quote a field, than check if it's reserved or not.
