HI

Is it mandatory to stop & start the QM when QM parameters are changed. i need to change MAXMSGL parameter.
If yes, is it enough to start stop QM/command servers or do i need to restart the server itself.
Pls clarify.

Thanks
Merine

generally, MQSC command take effect immediatley (like maxmsgl). Unless you're chaning things like a channel, in which case the channel needs to be restarted. But changes to things like queues, namelists, process definitions and the qmgr itself take effect immediately.

If you change something like the qm.ini file, that requires a recycle of the qmgr itself.
