Hi,
I would like to know what are the necessary steps I would have to follow for writing an application to demonstrate two phase commit. Basically, I have written now a Java program for demonstrating the same, and when I run it throws an exception stating "MQRC_NO_EXTERNAL_PARTICIPANTS". What is that I am overlooking here?

NO_EXTERNAL_PARTICIPANTS is a common error. Have a look at the Troubleshooting section of http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/library/techarticles/0601_ritchie/0601_ritchie.html

I'd guess that you haven't set THREAD_AFFINITY_PROPERTY to TRUE, or haven't configured the XAOpenString correctly

Sorry for posting this "delayed" reply.
Thanks for the information. I had not set THREAD_AFFINITY parameter in my program and when I tried that it started working.
