I am getting this error when I am running CORBA name server as well as ICS on a different server (server A) and connecting to the ORB on Server A from a different server (server B). "Cannot connect to the CORBA name server; It may not be running or is running at a different port". I get this error though the CORBA name server is running on that specific port on a different server. Any suggestions on why this could be happening?

Are you trying to connect to the server using system manager?

mb, you have to set ORB_HOST in %CROSSWORLDS%\bin\CWSharedEnv.bat to server A's IP

I am not trying to connect to the server using system manager. I am actually trying to start the server using a telnet client. And I get this message. Basically if the server starts I will be able to connect and that is not happening because of this error. I tried setting ORB_HOST to the actual ip address/server name/xternal IP address. I also tried configuring the ORB_OAHOST on the server where the PNS is running by setting it to the virtual IP address. It still doesn't work. Any thoughts?

Can you telnet to the port?
What does the console say when it is starting the system manager?
