Let me first say that this forum is great, and I have been lurking for a while picking up a lot of good info along the way.
I have been tasked with securing MQSeries objects on our iSeries machines and for the most part have been having a relatively painless experience. The only thing I can not find in the various forms of documentation (the Quick Beginnings manual, the IBM System Administration guide, etc.) is how to display all of the user authorities to an MQSeries object (specifically a message queue). Is there a way to do this, or can this only be done on a object by object basis using the DSPMQMAUT command? Basically I wanted to get a broader view of our current security structure.
Thanks in advance, and sorry if this has come up before. I searched the archives for it, but did not see anything.
Take care. |

Iffff the iSeries has "amqoamd", you can use that to display all authorities (for all objects). _________________ -wayne |

You could also have used dmpmqaut if you had the equivalent on iSeries
You could always use wild cards and see how it works |

Using PDM and displaying all cmd objects with the name *MQM* I came across the WRKMQMAUTD (Work with MQ Authority Data) command which will dsplay the authorities for an object, this is more than sufficient for what I am trying to accomplish, and unlike the WRKMQMAUT command, displays all user authorities at once for an object.
Thanks again! |

Sorry mate I should have posted my reply earlier. I missed to visit this forum for a long time(because of hectic schedules of my project).
I could have given you the answer before u found it.
there is other way to view MQ object authorities without using the command line and WRKMQMAUTD.
Please follow the below mentioned steps to view the authorities,
wrkmqm, Press enter
Take Option 24 on the corresponding Queue manager and then take 12 to work with profiles
In the resulting screen U can find the profiles and their authority levels.
This is the screen which u get when u use WRKMQMAUTD command
Hope Im clear in this.
Regards,
