Can MQBT send a cipher to the host? or optionally, can it use the client table set up for MQseries/websphere 5.3? Error 2009 was returned, and host said that "you'll need to specify that this is an SSL connection with the cipher TRIPLE_DES_SHA_US." Is this possible? I know nothing ...

Hi Jeannie,

No, MQ Batch Toolkit does not support SSL but it does support security exits.

MQ Batch Toolkit is a java application and for MQ v5.3, the MQ classes do not support a Client Channel Table. But for MQ V6.0, IBM has stated that the Java MQ classes now support Client Channel Table. So, I can investigate it for future releases.

hi Roger,
Thanks for the info -- not what I wanted to hear :( :-) But so be it. I'm back to the drawing board, programming this myself . yuck.

Hi Jeannie,
Today, I received your email from Jan 12. Sorry for not answering you sooner.
Our hosting company upgraded our email server Wednesday night and it was not seamless. It was refusing to accept incoming mail - a good way to keep out Spam but everything else too.
To anyone who sent me email between Jan 12 - 15, hopefully I will get it now or if you want, please resend it to make sure I get it.
Regards,
Roger Lacroix
