I was just going through the basics of how to connect to a queue manager.

I came across accounting option of the queue manager and also heard of the term HeartBeat Interval.

Please could anyone give me an idea of what exactly does these terms mean and where do we use these attributes.

heartbeats are used on channels to check if the other end is still alive and responding.
