IS it possible to generate one's own message id in the OutputRoot.MQMD.MsgID field by putting your own values.
want to avoid the use of the UUIDASBLOB function to generate a unique BLOB UUID , since these will not be values I want them to be . I understand that the messageId generated by me may or may not be unique.

Yes. Just fill it in. If there's a value there, then MQ will use it when the message gets written, unless you have the "Generate New MessageID" checked in the MQOutput Node.

Well. The buttons on the MQOutput node properties page aren't exactly "code".
And the MessageID is stored as a field in OutputRoot.MQMD. So you can use "set" to assign a value to it. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
