fOlks..
I have been looking into clustering QM for a while and nothing has come up well for me so far.. may be with the info I have below, you can help me better
I have tried creating an MQ Series cluster between two NT boxes, two windows 2000 boxes and also between an NT and a windows 200 box, but all in vein.
I have NT 4.0 with service pack 6 and MQ version I have is 5.2
Most of the time, I get an error at the point where we try to create a cluster receiver channel for the remote queue manager from the local machine. Sometimes, I get "Access not authorized. You are not authorized to do this operation (AMQ4036)". But I have all AuthorizatinServices deleted from all the queue managers. Sometimes, when i try to restart my queue manager, I get error in the MMC (Microsoft Management Console) there by shutting down the MQ Explorer.
What am I missing in setting up the cluster?
Guys, help me out.. it's been sometime I am stuck in this..
How do I enable the remote conenction acceptance of a queue manager? Is there something specific to be done?
please help me out..
thankx in advance

It appears that you are using MQExplorer to create your cluster. I would recommend that you follow the examples in the 'Queue Manager Clusters' manual and use 'runmqsc' commands to set up the cluster.

Have you tried runmqsc instead of MQ Explorer? |

Yes. Use runmqsc and follow the example in the clustering guide (I think the quick beginnings book might even have a cluster example) to the tee. The key is getting the two full repositories talking to each other. Just pick two machines, and define a cluster sender channel on A to B, then a cluster receiver channel on A to A! (Meaning, the CONNAME attribute on the cluster receiver channel had better be A's, not B's! I've seen some people do this. They assume that because this is going to be the receiver channel B uses when it sends stuff to A that the CONNAME should be B's.) Then define a cluster sender channel on B to A, and a cluster receiver channel on B back to B. Stick with the naming conventions that the manuals use. If you can't even get this far, let me know... But make sure you try it in runmqsc.

please add your User name to MQM objects list in all the machines in which you want to add the QMgrs to a cluster. This will sole your problem "Access not authorized. You are not authorized to do this operation (AMQ4036)". [/quote] _________________ IBM Certified Specialist MQSeries. |

Need more info.
Where are you getting this error message. Are you able to create normal channels and communicate between the same two queue managers. Check again to see if both the systems have your logged on userid within the "mqm" group.
Cheers.

Well that would tell the story to some extent.
Reason your clustering on the same system works fine because it is the same userid for both Qm's. But when you go accross systems you have different userids. Check out if all of them are within the "mqm" group and have sufficient previliges.
Cheers.
