Hi Everybody,
I installed WBIMB v 6.0 in my system and don't have any other versions of WBIMB except MQ Work Flow software.I successfully installed Broker and ToolKit,but while running the default configuration i am getting like "problem in creating WBRK6_DEFAULT_QUEUE_MANAGER and listner port 2414 is already doesn't exists" . I am successful upto creating Queue Manager but while creating lister it is showing error.I tried to change the listener port number but if i resume the configuration process the wizard creating one more listner with same port number(2414) and again the same error.

Please bring me out from this problem.

Thanks in adavance.

Can you copy the EXACT error message? The one you typed makes no sense. It is complaining that 2414 is already used, or that it can't create a listener at 2414?

Hi Wschutz,
Sorry for short explanation of my error. This is the exact error message.

Task: Creating a listener for queue manager [WBRK6_DEFAULT_QUEUE_MANAGER] on port 2414. failed
If you can manually fix the issues that caused this task to fail, do so and then click Yes.
If you click Yes, the wizard starts the task again.

If you click No, the wizard rolls back all completed tasks, if roll-back is possible.

To establish why the task failed, examine this wizard's log file which can be found in the workspace
directory [C:\MBWorkSpace\.metadata].

Thanks in advance.

Do you see a log file there with any relevant messages? Also, is this MQ V6 or V5.3? Can you tell if the listener was created?

Hi Wschutz,
I already checked the log file i am not getting any info from that log.But if i manually created that listner with different port number then the error is " Listner is already does not exists" .Even i too understand this statement "does not already exists" .Bye the way it is MQ V5.3 .

Thanks for the reply.

Have you tried completly deleting WBRK6_DEFAULT_QUEUE_MANAGER and then trying to create the default configuration again? Also try running the "Remove the default configuration" wizard, rebooting and creating again.

You might also like to try going to a command prompt and entering netstat -a. This will tell you if port tcp/2414 is already in use.

Hi Everybody,
Yes,I tried it by deleting WBRK6_DEFAULT_QUEUE_MANAGER manually and also by the option "Remove the Default Configuration" .
But no use.If i run "create Default Configuration" ,the result is the same "Problem with listner as i already stated".I checked in command prompt also there is no port number 2414,which is already in use,and i tried to delete WBRK6_DEFAULT_QUEUE_MANAGER components in "RegEdit" also.

Thank you,
Raj.

Try creating your listener manually - the log for the DCW will tell you the command you need.

If the problem is with the port 2414, try a different port. You will need to create your broker and CM manually if you do this, however (use the command console or command assistant).

Hi mqmatt,
I already tried creating listner manually with different port number ,but after creating listner manually,if i run "create default configuration" it is creating another listner with the default port number and again the problem is the same.If i create listner with different port number ,the wizard creates "listner(2) " with defualt port number.

Thank You.

This is what I would expect; the DCW always creates and uses a listener on port 2414 - it's deliberately not possible to change this.

It looks like that port cannot be used on your machine for some reason. What happens if you try and create a listener manually on 2414?
