Hmmm. And all magically 9999 bytes. Even the ReadMe.

Which is a lie, really. It's nearly 100Meg for Windows.

Cheers,

Hmmm.... I just read all the errors fixed.

It WALKS like a fix pack and it TALKS like a fix pack, but it is just a "refresh". Those wacky boys in IBM marketing.

Nevertheless, I am glad to see it and I am downloading it now.

I stole this off the listserver:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg21191989

It gives some information on maintenance and what to call things.

Thank you for that tidbit! I must say, "refresh" sounds... I dunno, like a kinder, gentler sort of fix.

Thats for WAS, not MQ specifically. Does it apply to MQ equally?

on W2K3 for X86 fully patched.
It says that there are MQ files in use. (AMQ4757) but I disabled WMQ at the services level and rebooted. There is no indication of which files are in use. Sigh.

Download process explorer from sysinternals and have a look at all the amq*dll's......

You can also search here on AMQ4757, and you'll get a bunch of hits on other things to stop before the install.

I did all the things suggested including using the process explorer from Sysinternals. That was actually the first thing I did!

What I did was...
1) Uninstall V6.0.0
2) Reboot
3) Install V6.0.0 again and after the install had finished, stop MQServices which was started by the install
4) Install 6.0.1
Bingo!

I did the same upgrade on an XP Pro system and it didn't complain like the Server 2003 system did.

this is like the old CSDs and you can overwrite the files that are in use...
actually you will need to reboot the server .. but you can go through the command prompt and run from the extract path
amqicsdn MQPINUSEOK=1
then you'll have to reboot your server

Platform: Win2003 SP1
I downloaded refresh pack for MQ V6.0 and it is in two parts. i.e. it's having two .exe files.
1.) ibm-java2-sdk-142.exe

2) WebSphereMQMDV6.0.1.0EnUs.exe

What usage is of "ibm-java2-sdk-142.exe" install...!!!

There is an excerpt in readme.txt for CSD01 for MQ V6.0.
Quote
"1.4.6 Getting started on WebSphere MQ for Windows
.........
.........
1.4.6.7 Uninstalling IBM WebSphere Eclipse Platform on Windows

After you uninstall IBM WebSphere Eclipse Platform, you must delete
additional files created during installation of WebSphere Eclipse
Platform from the "Eclipse SDK30" install directory. This ensures you
can install a newer version of WebSphere Eclipse Platform correctly at a
later date.
........
........"
Unquote.
Step 1.4.6.7 along with ibm-java2-sdk-142.exe part of the install is little confusing.
Those who have done it, can anybody explain what's going on...!!!
