Hi,

I'm trying to use VSS as source control for message flow/set projects created and developed using v6 of the WMB toolkit.

As I understand it, WMBv6 Toolkit uses Eclipse v3.0.0: Help->About->ConfigurationDetails->osgi.framework.version=3.0.0

Visual Source Safe Version 6.0c (Build 9447) installed and verified (check in/out against test files)

I have no service packs applied to either product.

I have followed the installation guide for the following releases of the VSS plugin:
org.vssplugin_1.5.0-3.0-M4-compability
org.vssplugin_1.5.0-3.0-M5-compability
org.vssplugin_1.5.0-3.0-M8-compability
org.vssplugin_1.6.0
org.vssplugin_1.6.1
org.vssplugin_1.5.0

I can confirm the plugins have loaded by seperately installing them (ie one at a time, deleting them after checking) and then confirming their presence: Help->About->PluginDetails.

The only version which I can see working is org.vssplugin_1.5.0 - i.e. I can access the VSS wizard when Right Click project -> Team -> Share Project:

When I attempt to share the project I enter the details as per the docs, however the wizard will not complete when I click Finish.

Has anyone got the VSS plugin working with WMBv6 Toolkit, if so which verion(s), any specific steps I need to follow?

Also can anyone tell me how to check the milestone version of Eclipse I am using.

TIA.

Pete

OK, this is now working with org.vssplugin_1.6.0.

Not sure what I did differently, all seems fine.

Hi Pete,
I'm also having trouble in getting VSS plugin working Message Broker V6. I tried all the available versions of VSS. But I cannot see the VSS option when I selected Team-Share Project...
I'm on VSS 6.0 & MB V6. I just copied "org.vssplugin_1.6.0" directory to "eclipse\plugins\" directory and restarted IDE.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Prasad

When you ran the toolkit after installing the plugins, did you use the -clean option? Try that.

Hi Andy,
Yes, it worked. I realised that in MB version 6, there is a plugin registry. So whenever, we put any plugin in eclipse directory (including user-defined nodes), they will appear only when we open toolkit with "-clean". It cleans the plugins registry.

Thanks,
Prasad
