I have not set any Activity Instance List Threshold. Does any one know if there is a finite limit to the query?
i get the following error when i do a wild card search.

By the way when i set a finite threshold the query seem to work
Is there a recommended limit?

There is no real hard limit... it will depend on the amount of data being transmitted which depends on things like the Description fields which are variable.

Hi anuppc,
I had the same issue when trying to QueryWorkItems.
There is a limit somewhere, I found it to be around the 1700's for my application.....On searching this forum, i realised that it can be increased to 7500 but that takes some doing....
I guess you should look at your design as I dont understand why a client will want to fetch 1700 workitems and work on all....try paging instead.
