We have configured a persistent queue and tried to pump the 200000 messages using multi threaded program on Sun solaris box with MQ version 5.3.
The performance we got was around 6000 messages per minutes which is very slow.
When we changed the queue property to non-persistent, we were able pump 200000 messages in a minute.
After that we increased the queue manager log buffer size, primary and secondary log files, after that we can now able to get significant performance, but still we need to do more performance.
I want to know that if we are go for MQ Clustering will be able to solve our problem.Pls give me more input for the same.
Thx in advance |

You might want to read performance related support packs, as well as the Clustering Manual.
There is no "Yes/No" answer to this question, as there are a lot of variables to that.
cheers

Also, you need to be clear about what you are trying to optimize.
If you are pushing 20,000 messages a second through to the final queue, but your application still takes 30 seconds to process each message, increasing throughput to 40,000 messages a second to the final queue won't help.
The speed of transmission from sender to receiver is going to be limited by the speed of your network if sender and receiver are on different qms. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
