So how many new users do we get a day? How long will it take to get to 10,000?

So far this week it's been 8-9 per day; so another 10 - 12 business days if the trend keeps up.

What I always found to be somewhat odd, is that although it is not necessary to register to search and read posts here, a third of the users(around 3000 - see MQSeries.net - Some statistics) didn't post a single post - so why did they bother registering at all??

I don't know about you, but I think long and hard before registering anywhere, and try to avoid it at all costs; do people just register the second they find a new forum site?

I agree it does seem strange that so many register but never post. There are several other boards that I "lurk" on and I don't plan to register until I have a question to ask or think I can contribute to the conversation in a meaningful way.

On this board, however, I'm giving myself a birthday present of "journeyman" status; that's right this is my 100th post.

One of the reason for register is also to be able to see if there are new posts in the forums.

Just my $0.02

It got here a couple of days early. This morning's forum page shows 10001 registered members.

Amazing there's that many MQ people out there. When I first started this site my coworkers would joke, "So, you're gonna ask the 6 other people on earth who know MQ how to solve this problem?"
