hello
i am trying to setup a noop activity on my desktop running mq5.3, wf3.5, db2 8.2. in mq can the fmcinternalnoop be used with a pea and a upes on the execution server tab or is it only the upes. can someone explain why?

Funny you should ask this... I just recently had a PMR open on this exact issue.....
While it is possible to use either a PEA or a UPES with the FMCINTERNALNOOP program, the preferred method is to use the UPES. Any use of PEA is now discouraged. _________________ John McDonald

thanks for the reply John. So what would be the appropriate usage of an noop activity? Can I use it to launch a .exe on my desktop? what happens if the program the pea is referring to is not working and workflow reaches that step? _________________ Newbiedude |

thank you.... What we have been doing all along is running a dummy program (inplace of the NOOP at all decision related points) that resides on our solaris dev box and it would simply return a code back to wf, upon which the path in wf is back on it's merry way. we are in the process of changing our flows to incorporate the noop stuff..
