I have a development team who is relatively new to the MQSeries and we are struggling with an application requirement:
We have a need to run an application where an AS/400 needs to act as a client only. Forcing the install of the MQSeries server system makes the solution economically inviable.
Does anyone have any ideas how we might be able to solve this issue? |

Hi,
Write your application in Java and you will be fine. All you will need are the MQ JAR files (i.e. SupportPac MA45).

But the Java API for WebSphere MQ is a 100% pure java implementation.
I have established, using just these jar files, an MQ Connection from a Macintosh.
Roger is completely right. This is a viable option for running a client connection from machines for which IBM does not sell c/c++ based clients - iSeries and Z/OS in specific, other things at your own risk. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Instead on making incorrect comments like this, why didn't you look SupportPac MA45?? If you had, you would had see that it is titled "WebSphere MQ Java client for iSeries V5.3"
