Hi veterans,
I am new to this area and now working on this. Each time when I interact with the command line, I'm always puzzled about the name of command and its origin. Could anybody here tell me why all the command have a fmcz alike prefix or fmca, fmc...what that means?
thanks,
a mq/mqwf newbie |

For a very long time, all IBM products have had a three letter identifier that is to be used for things lke program names and error messages. For example, MQ on distributed is AMQ, on zOS it is CSQ, MQ Workflow is FMC (probably becuase the product was originally called FlowMark). Thtas why the commands and messages start with fmc. _________________ -wayne |

thanks, wschutz . I scratched my head to figure this out, because only when you know what's the short name it for, you could eaisy memorzie many commands wiht prfix like that. At the beginning, I just assume it stands for Flow Management Console. Then when I come accross fmca prefix, that's certainly for administration , but still don't know why fmcz,
,
Anyway, thanks let me know its long history.
