This is a full-time permanent position with a growing Tampa company. Local (Tampa) candidates strongly preferred. Out of area candidates will be considered however, there is no relocation assistance available for this position.

The Sr. Systems Architect performs the following functions in support of messaging and transaction software (such as WebSphere MQ, CICS Transaction Server and related WEB/Internet technologies). Will be on a team performing messaging and transaction software installation, testing, implementation, debugging, and support functions on the z/OS mainframe and distributed (UNIX and Windows) platforms. Develops messaging and transaction software enhancements (exits, user extensions, etc.). Performs WebSphere MQ, WebSphere Business Integrator (WBI), and CICS/TS infrastructure creation, testing, implementation, and support activities. Develops & enhances in-house applications for security authentication, entitlements, messaging, and reporting functions. Performs data security administration for messaging and transaction systems. Helps to develop project plans, review project progress, and resolve problems. Coordinates/supports tests for internal IT groups and external users of messaging and transaction systems. Serves as a subject matter expert for application development teams in the use of messaging and transaction software.

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of WebSphere MQ and CICS/TS internals, BAL programming language, z/OS architecture, and WEB/Internet technology.
Knowledge of Windows PC and UNIX utilities.
Excellent knowledge of WebSphere MQ API's and related application architecture techniques.
Excellent knowledge monitoring and performance tools such as TMON, OMEGAMON, MAINVIEW for CICS/TS and WebSphere MQ.
Thorough understanding of network communication protocols like TCP/IP, VTAM/SNA, APPC as used to interconnect WebSphere MQ and CICS/TS subsystems.
Fundamental understanding of WebSphere Business Integrator (WBI).
Ability to communicate clearly & effectively with peers,superiors and subordinates.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
