H,
I want to write a program to monitor MQSeries logs so that when an exception occurs the program reads the exception from the logs and could further notify the user.
Kindly explain as to how can i achieve this.
Thanks and regards,

You can use a marvelous language like perl to search for the error messages that interest you in the logs and then take actions based on those messages. _________________ -wayne |

Monitoring the error logs is not the best way to know what's going on with MQ, to achieve a full view of mq activity you must monitor queues, events, processes etc. Search around the site for posts about monitoring. Anyway, as wayne said, to monitor the error log, you'll just have to code it.
(ps mind there's a difference between "logs" and "error logs", you should take care with terminologies otherwise people will misunderstand what you asked) |
