I installed wbimb5 on a xp box, with fixpack6, and copied the two .lic files from cdrom into inst_dir\config\. successfully created and started broker, configmgr; connected them, created the domain and topology, from toolkit.
But after that, everytime I start broker toolkit, the got the msg: "The license cannot be found or has expired. The features that do not have the valid license will be disabled."
Anyone ever encountered this can tell me what I'm missing?
any hint will be appreciated. |

You shouldn't have needed to copy the license files.
Did you start with the CSD5 installer, or did you lay down a base install first, and then apply CSD5? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Yes, I lay down the base install first. copied the .lic files only when the mqsistartconfigmgr failed. the copy of the two .lic files at least got me passing that command.
I then created the everything else. However, I can't create msgset project, with no error msg at all, not in eventlog, not in errors directory.
Actually, I applied fixpack 6 just today in hope of solving the problem.
But it stays the same. |

Something is wrong with your installation, I think. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Installation troubleshooting
Scenario: You get the following message when starting, or using, Message Brokers Toolkit.
The license cannot be found or has expired. The features that do not have the valid license will be disabled.
Solution: Parts of Message Brokers Toolkit require a license to be enrolled. The license is normally enrolled automatically, however in this situation you must run enroll.exe manually. Use one of the following commands to do this. You must also ensure your system date is correct.
- Either run this command in the config directory within the installation directory:
enroll.exe -debug .\product.lic
- Or, specify a full path to the license file, for example:
enroll.exe -debug "C:\Program Files\IBM\Websphere Business Integration Message Brokers\config\product.lic"

many thanks for the information. I think that's it.
But when I run the enroll command, I got the following msg. What does it tell me? I do have both .LIC files plus product.lic in the config directory.
C:\software\ibm\wbib\config>enroll -debug product.lic

ProductID=4
ProductVersion=5.0.0
LicenseStyle=nodelocked

Nodelock Path=C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM\LUM\nodel
ock

Is it possible you applied the FP6 for Event Broker instead of Message Broker? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

..., really a grand master. How did you find it?
Same error msg. However, although I do have wsadie installed, it is working fine and not related to the problem with wbimb toolkit.
No, I installed the right fixpack 6, U200238 for msg broker. |

I apologize for the thread reanimation, but I encountered the same problem and found a solution.
Problem:
WBIMB 5.0 would not build or deploy message sets, though some other functionality worked. The eclipse kit would not recognize or create message set projects.
Cause:
The capacity of the license was inappropriate for the machine. I.e., license of 1 CPU on a dual-core machine (2 CPUs).
mqsidisplaycapacity
Fix:
Correctly license based on hardware.
