Channel 'A1Y1PSHB.VK.PNRFD.1' is in use.

The requested operation failed because channel 'A1Y1PSHB.VK.PNRFD.1' is currently active.

Either end the channel manually, or wait for it to close, and retry the operation.

We have a remote mq manager which sends in messages to the local MQ manager. We use the channel 'A1Y1PSHB.VK.PNRFD.1'. The following error is a regular occurence. And i have to manually restart the channel after this error.

Would like to know what are the possible reasons for this Error.

I guess yours is a rcvr channel ?

Anyways you get this error when a channel is in running state and something else try to start it !

From what you pasted it appears the sdr ends and rcv on your qmgr is still in running state,

Now when the sdr tries to start the channel again , the rcvr is already in running state and so you have to manually start it !

One way to avoid if this is the cause of error is to set AdoptNewMCA paramenter on the Sdr ,

Also setting the HBINT parameter would be useful.

There is a definite improvement in connection failure ... due to the solution suggested.
