Hi All,
I was trying hands on intercommunication. I have the following setup
On the target queue manager I have defined a local queue LQ and a Dead Letter queue DQ. I changed the definition of both of them to MAXDEPTH=1.
Now when I put message from the sender queue manager, the first msg goes to LQ and the second goes to DQ. At the point CHSTATUS is Running and Message Count is 2. Perfectly fine.
When I put any message further, the Message Count of both the channel increases by one and the channels are in Running state.
Questions:
Where the other messages are getting stored. Is there any way I can see them?
I believe that channel should go down incase the DLQ and Target Queue is full, though this is not happening here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have 2 more questions:
Suppose I have defined an expiry interval for the message. The message is in the XMITQ of the Sender QM because the channel is down due to some reason. Now when the channel started the expiry time has elapsed. I wanted to know what will happen now. Will be the message be removed, will it lie on Xmitq or will it be sent to DLQ of Sender QM ??
A communication failure has caused the loss of all the channels to and from the QM. After resolving the communication problem, what steps should be taken to recover persistent messages on the channel at the time of the failure.
Request you to please give comments on this.
Really appreciate you help.. _________________ Regards,

Depends. If you have set NPMSPED to fast and send non persistent messages, they will dissapear. Persistent Messages should stay on the transmit queue on the sending end.

They will be discarded (I belive).

Resolve potential in doubt statuses should be enough. |

The answer to the last question is 'Do nothing'. The channel will recover and resolve the msgs without needing any intervention.
Are these questions from the certificatoin exam? If so

Thanks for the helping me out. I encountered the questions while studing MQ and some were given while I was given a MQ training.
Thanks a lot for answering to my queries. _________________ Regards,
