Hi,
I am facing a problem here while configuring MQ Workflow 3.5
Softwares used:
MQ Workflow version 3.5
MQSeries version 5.3
DB2 8.1.4
Problem Definition:
Once I run the MQ Workflow Configuration Utility - lets say it creates "Queue Manager - FMCQM".
Queue Manager FMCQM, and is reported as "Unavailable"
When I try to start FMCQM from MQServices UI console, it throws the following error message:
Error code 71 starting FMCQM/Queue Manager WebSphere MQ service.
The service was unable to start FMCQM/Queue Manager. The error message reported was as follows: AMQ7626: XA resource manager initialization failure.
Any help will be appreciated..
Thanks,
KSB |

In Unix enviroment it will be in the path /var/mqm/qmgrs/FMCQM
in windows it will in the MQ installation directory and in the same structure mentioned above |

Vennela,
Yes DB2 is started.
Vinoth,
I couldn't find any file named qm.ini. May be it has some different name in Windows... |

Like I already mentioned there is no qm.ini on windows.
When you try to start the QMGR, a message will be written to the event viewer. Post that here. |

Using the fmczutil change the password of the Queuemanager and try stop start again.
if u still get the same error then try using the same fmczutil to delete the queue manager and create a new one with the same name. |

It is of my opinion that deleting a QMGR is not a good idea. Instead delete the entire configuration and start off afresh. |

I am having the same problem but I am trying to run against an Oracle9 database. I've created all the tables, etc. but get this error when trying to start the queue manager. I didn't see any resolution in this thread.
Any suggestions? |

most times when I run into this issue it is due to the passwords not matching... but I have no experience on Oracle. _________________ John McDonald

Hi ,
I have some Oracle configurations for workflow both on windows and UNIX. If you let me know , whats your OS .. may be we can compare to see whats different and why you are getting this error.
As Jmac said it most probably is username/password issue in the qm.ini file.
Thanks

Thanks Karthik and jmac,
I have installed the latest fix level and may not have reset all the configuration parameters. I have made some changes and am now able to start the queue manager but having another connection problem so I'll post something when progress (or shudder - another failure) is encountered. _________________ Dean Keister |

karhtik, AFAIK we cant have oracle on windows as a Database ( both for Runtime and Buildtime). Did this change??. I am aware of this limitation in WF 3.3.2 and 3.4. Just wondering if Oracle on windows is supported in the latest versions of WF _________________ Thanks

koko,
The workflow configuration we have here on windows , is for Oracle 8i and MQWF 3.3.2. I was told that for Oracle 9i and later versions of Workflow , windows environment is not supported and this is only possible on UNIX.
Hope that answers your question.
Thanks
Karthik. |
