Hi,
I'm trying to install Supportpac MO71 but got an error as following. I ran it under WINDOWS XPpro SP2 and trying to connect MVS qmgr using Client connection. If the msg is correct, I should have MQ Clinet V5.1. Please advice me.
MO71 version: 6.0.1 (Aug 4 2005)
MQ Client V5.2 for NT and W2K
message: Local client definition requires Version 5.1 Client _________________ WMQ/WMQI/WBI Consultant

Can you run amqsputc or amqsbcgc from the machine where your MO71 is running from?
I don't remember any version kind of problems, but this support pac definitely works with WMQ Client 5.3 |

Do you have the client attachment facility running on the MF ?
As you are trying a client connection you would need to run the CAF.
The alternate way is to define default communication channels to and from a default distributed qmgr(Unix/Windows).
Then you can use that qmgr as a proxy into the MF qmgr.
Enjoy |

Yes. it works as following:
C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin>amqsputc MO71.REPLYTO.QUEUE
Sample AMQSPUT0 start
target queue is MO71.REPLYTO.QUEUE
display threads
Sample AMQSPUT0 end _________________ WMQ/WMQI/WBI Consultant

This really has no bearing on the subject, but my WMQ "bad standards" alarm goes off when I see something like
Quote: |
target queue is MO71.REPLYTO.QUEUE |
This is truely a bad name for a queue by any standard; do yourself a favor, search this forum for "queue AND naming AND convention", see what you can find... |

sorry for confusion. it just for testing to put something out. I used default system command queue for MO71. _________________ WMQ/WMQI/WBI Consultant

The question still remains.....
Do you have the Client Attach Facility on z/OS? If not, then you will not be able to directly client attach to the queue managers over on z/OS..
....but you could 'talk to it' via an XP queue manager. |

I think I found a problem at USERID/PSWD in MO71 definition menu.
This feature only available at WMQ V6 that single signon is supported. A msg displayed on menu should say Clint 6.1 not Client 5.1.
Our zOS MQ is still V5.3 and also my client is V5.3.
Thanks. _________________ WMQ/WMQI/WBI Consultant

Well, I guess that would make sense fif there was a 6.1 client, but there isn't. _________________ -wayne |

I downloaded the latest Mo71 s/p. It appears that there is now a checkbox on the "Location Settings" panel for userid. If you check this, you get prompted for a userid and password (which is passed as one of the new options on the MQCONN call. A new functional entry point MQZ_AUTHENTICATE_USER is defined by the authorisation service interface to support this option.)
Have you tried using mo71 without the box checked? _________________ -wayne |

Yes. It works without userid/pswd option.. But it carries windows userid to Mainframe and is not acceptable.
I need it this feature or similar supportpac. Anybody knows this kind of program that I may download ?
