Ran the Publish/Subscribe JMS sample found on internet. If I kill/restarted the subscriber program while publisher continued sending messages, then these message were not sent to the subscriber.

Where did I do wrong?

I think you went wrong by not reading the "Publish and Subscribe Users" manual....

Granted, this is a relatively new manual.

You should consult this documentation on the difference between durable and non-durable subscriptions. You should also determine if you are running a pub/sub broker that will support "retained" publications.

And then go back to your business requirements, and determine that they actually do not require what you are trying to do, and continue to use non-durable subscriptions with unretained publications - and enjoy good performance and the knowledge that your MQ administrator is happy with you.
