Hi
I have installed the WBIMB Tool kit onto my desk top and when i open it all the icons are just black boxes. When you navigate through the different work spaces you can get some icons but the majority remain as black boxes. I installed just the tool kit, not MQSeries5.3 or dB2, but am seeing the same problem on an installation with them.
Very puzzled.
This was happening both before and after I installed CSD 5.

Hi Keith,
This does not have anything to do with the software being defective or the lack of CSD.
The problem is with the licensing.
U can try mqsisetcapacity but i doubt that will fix the problem.
There is some other command(which i had seen but have forgotten, and have been searching for, for a long time) which will fix it....there are some config files which need to be copied etc....
Will let u know if i find it. |

What is the version given before the CSD is applied? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hey Keith,
the command is enroll.exe
enroll.exe [-debug] cert_file
You will need to give the certification file which i think is the "product.lic" or "wsplugin.conf" in the folder
C:\...\IBM\WebSphere Business Integration Message Brokers\config
Try it and let us know.....
NOTE: for people who dont see the properties of nodes on Right click--> properties, this is the solution. |

Hi Elvis_gn
Thanks for the help, but so far no joy.
I had to copy the lic file to the bin dir with enroll.exe to get it to run as it did not like the path names (I tried both dos long & short format).
When it did run it returned the text 'You have a valid licence'.
I also tried to delete the .metadata folder in the workspace, but to no avail.
PS. Jeff - just waiting for another installation to complete to see what the version no is in the middle. |

Try reinstalling into something like D:\IBM\WBIMB instead of D:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere Business Integration Message Brokers\. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Keith,
Did you get the files from another working WBI machine ???
If not try that, coz i clearly remember one of the senior guys bug fixing this after hours of hardwork. |

We have the installations set up on another machine and have done some successful installs from it, but cannot find a pattern to match what might be different.
Are you suggesting copying files directly rather than using the install? |

Copy only the two license files(*.lic and *.conf) and paste then and then enroll them. |

Look for errors in the eclipse tooling log file... <wbimb>/eclipse/workspace/.metadata/.log ?
Well, certainly <workspace>/.metadata/.log. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I had this problem when we upgraded out antivirus software to McFee vs 8 the buffer overrun protection included in version in version 8 of McAfee causes black boxes to show up in 2.x versions of Eclipse.
Either disable the Buffer over flow protection, Downgrade Mcafee back to 7.x or Look on the McAfee site for a fix. This was discussed briefly on the eclipse.org site
