Hi All,

I am working on Authrizations Here i have user which is created by default when installing MQ series say 'XXX' and the user 'XXX' is added in mqm group and now i have created one more user 'YYY' and the authorizations given to the user 'YYY' are only on a queue say 'ABC'.
which is a object of QM say 'XYZ'.but when i log in with user as 'YYY' i am unable to acess the QM 'XYZ'.It is showing me an error that "you are not authorized to access this QM".

I am working windows 2000 env.

Can some one explain why is this so?

Regards.

It says you can't access the queue manager.

Did you authorize the user to connect to the queue manager?

Or did you only authorize the user to put and get from the queue?

After refreshing the security using mqsc commands it is working fine

but now the authorizations are not working.

i have two clarifications.

1.do i need to add the new created user into mqm group to make the authorizations work?

2.i have given all acess rights to QM for the new created user, and minimizex the authrization for a queue in that queue manager.is that a problem?

Regards

No. If you do that, then the user will have full access to everything and you will not be able to limit it.

We don't know if that's the problem because we don't know the error you're getting.

In order to put to a queue, for example, a user needs permissions to connect to the queue manager and then permissions to open and put on the queue.

If you look in the System Administration Guide, it will list "Control commands" that you can run from the command prompt to, for example, dump the mq authorities or set the mq authorities.
