Thanks in advance for thoughts.
Windows2000/WBIMB5/CSD4
I had to rebuild the configuration and now am experiencing login issues when the broker attempts to access the database (exact trace error posted at the end of post). I have verified DSN is correct and that I can login to the db with the credentials I am trying to assign via mqsisetdbparms. I've deleted all components and recreated....a couple of times. Rebooted the system more than a few. I've turned on odbc tracing but it doesn't give me the credential it is trying to use for access. Looked in the registry - but the id there is specific to the broker database. So, not sure how I can determine exactly the credentials getting passed in to the db for login.
thanks,

Missed the DSN folder in the registry. So, I can verify it is taking the userid I am specifying and the password is being encrypted. Doesn't explain why I'm getting the login failures.....but, does aid in verfiying what the configuration is. |

The database user is either the broker service user, the broker database user, or the user setup with mqsisetupdbparms.
You can change the broker database password using mqsichangebroker. I don't believe you can change the broker service user (but I could be remembering wrong), and mqsisetupdbparms will work as well without deleting the broker. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
