I have given an option of second notification in the activity.I was surprised to see the notfication result with following cases

Case 1:

I have not specified process admin.
Send second notification to same user option was checked in activity

Result : 2nd notification went to process admin

Case 2:
I have specified process admin
Send second notification to same user option was checked in activity

Result : 2nd notification went to process admin

I want to send the second notification to the same user which I have specified for first notification irrespective of process admin and process starter.

You have a misunderstanding regarding Second Notifications. They ALWAYS go to the Process Administrator.

Perhaps you are confused by the "Send 2nd Notification to the same user" option. This allows you to have BOTH notifications sent to the Process Administrator, without this option once the Process Administrator is notifice no further notifications would be sent. (i.e, the PA would only get the 1st Notification).

Good Luck

Thanxs John,

So it means that to send two notification to the same user, the ONLY way is
to make that user as process administrator.

I had read the online help about "Send second notification to same user"
which says

**************************************************************************
If selected ,the second notification is sent to the same staff member
as the first notification instead of being sent to the process administartor.

Note :
* This field is optional.
* By default , a second notification is not sent to the same person.

***************************************************************************
Please comment on the above help.

What you have stated is exactly correct, AND of course the doc is very confusing. The key is the following:

"Second Notifications ALWAYS go to the Process Administrator"

Every process has a Process Administrator, IMHO, it is best if you make a specific assignment of a PA thru the Process Settings, but if you dont, the Process Starter becomes the PA for the instances they start.

GOOD LUCK

Hi,

It is always better to have a process administrator in charge of a particular process who can monitor the process and also get notified in case of delay.

Please let me know, if you need any document on Staff Assignment.

Cheers
Ved
