Hi MQ Experts,
Recently I had an Interview and I was asked to tell
"What are the all possible reasons for a channel to go into retry mode?"
I could think of only "receiving end listener is not running" but later on I thought it may also go into retry mode if there is any network issue or if the channel sequence numbers are not in sync.
I searched a lot but failed to find out all possible reasons for a channel to go into retry mode.
Any idea would be highly appreciated.
Thank you,

This question does not really makes sense, and the only possible and correct answer is "42"
of course network errors, definition errors, sequence number, full queues, put disabled queues, qmgr without dlq, and so on. lots of reasons.
if it is up to me to ask, i would ask "how to solve a retry problem (what to check)". this will show practical knowledge and working experience. the "all possible reason" question just asks for the theoretical knowledge and is (almost) useles (imho). _________________ Regards, Butcher |

The correct answer is 'All channel errors are retryable'. |
