I'm having big troubles with RPU trying to update RAD 6.0 on XP SP2.

It keeps starting to download various zip files, and then freezes.

If I force kill it, and try again, it doesn't seem to work.

If I reboot, and then try again, it seems to get further sometimes - at least, it starts getting stuck at a different zip file.

Any ideas?

I had similar problem trying to install Portal Server. It kept asking for various CD numbers. I could never get it installed and I finally gave up. Sometimes it took an hour to tell the CD number was wrong.
I tried it on a windows 2000 server with 1GB RAM.

Oh, that's just Portal.

I expect better of an updater.

It seems that the problems I was having were related to issues with access to IBM's site - as it ran the updater successfully and downloaded everything when I tried during an off hour.

But I still question whether it should have locked up due to network problems. And there's no doubt that it was locked, as I left it sitting for several hours on occasion.

I am having a problem with updating to Message Broker Toolkit 6.0.0.1 using the RPU. Its finds the updates without a problem and when I choose "Install Updates" it tells me i need to close the RPU before updating which isnt possible. Any ideas?

Try downloading the fix pack (refresh pack) and then installing it.
