Does anyone know if/how topic level security for pub/sub can be set up using LDAP? The broker is running on Solaris 8.

i am also looking for the answer to a similar question.

i am looking for enabling acl's ( access control lists) for publish/subscribe topics using ldap in the message broker. Is it possible?
can the Message Broker provide security or access control to publish/subcribe of topics based on user information stored in LDAP, i.e. implement access control using LDAP

i also know there is a "IA08: WebSphere Business Intergation Message Broker - LDAP Plug-In".
Can this plugin be used to enable acl's as mentioned above.

pls do reply
thanks
Milind

I'm reasonably sure the answer is no.

The only way to use the LDAP plug-in to solve this problem is to ensure that publishers and subscribers are registered through a custom flow, rather than through normal mechanisms - and that publications are made through a custom flow.

You will basically have to write your own username server, integrating the LDAP plug-in.

If WBIMB ever natively supports LDAP authentication/authorization for anything, I would find it astounding if it did not support an LDAP based UNS.

But given that some of the WBIMB developers who have posted here were surprised to discover that anyone wanted to use LDAP with broker, I expect it will not be for a few versions that this is natively supported.

Unless you raise a feature request with IBM, and make lots of noise to get it accomplished.

Hello Brian,
How are you? Where are you now?

Have a weird situation ....
The client created a Topic and started sending the data to that topic, however there does not seem any Topic / Subscription entry to the Topic since the trace goes thru the flow and when comes to the Publish node identifies that the publishing was successful, but does not show where to....They have other Topics getting the publications assigned to them...

We do not see the Subscription on the Configuration Manager. Is there any where else I can check for the Topic/Subscriber List?

Any help much appreciate.
Thanks
