I thought I read somewhere that either MQ or WMQI didn't like SP1 on Windows 2003. Yet I have searched both here and on the IBM website, and I'm not finding anything.

Have I imagined this? Please be kind, I am old enough to be grandmother to some of your children.

You can find information on what is supported at:

http://www-306.ibm.com/software/integration/mqfamily/platforms/supported/wsmq_for_winnt2000_5_3.html

This claims Windows 2003 with a link to the readme where it gives more information. I didn't see anything specific to SP1.

I had already checked the IBM supported product page and found the same thing you did.

Maybe it was SP2 on XP that I was thinking about. <sigh>

Thanks for your reply.

So, would any of the IBMers watching this site be able to comment on whether MQSeries V5.3 is "certified" to run on Windows 2003 (EE) with SP1?

I would also check your server vendor first for SP1 compatibility. I can tell you that Dell is recommending against installing SP1 on several of their server models until later this year. Installing SP1 currently on some of their servers may cause problems (documented on their site) and it may take a fair amount of work to repair.

Check your server vendor first, then worry about WMQ compatibility.
