hi all

I installed the eval copy of mqseries 6 server/explorer over windows. I installed successfully but didnt go for cluster configuration as its not needed for my laptop.

I opted for default queue manager during installation and some later.

According to tutorial, I dont see folders queues and advances under any queue manager that I have created. The status of queue manager or gui representation is
"Local Queue Manager;running but disconnected from server"

I am the administrator on my laptop and I installed it with the same username. I also added by username to MQM_* group, but that didnt help.

Can someone help me here?

dude...
I did those already. I did commands where you create a queue and put a message using amqsput and amqsget.
All thos work but I just cant see the folders in GUI/explorer.

This are the options I get when I rightclick on queue manager
stop ...
stop command server
autoreconnect
set refresh interval
properties

typo earlier, status of queue manager is
"Local Queue Manager;running but disconnected from mqexplorer"

You would be surprised, how often things like that are fixing some of my colleagues problems...

If I remember right, then you can create at MQ6 Setup a default queue manager (correct me somebody if I am wrong). Just for the sake of having tried it... Have you created another queue manager than that default one? If not, I would like to recommend you to try creating a new queue manager and see whether this is connecting better.

Also you could try changing your distributed com configuration (assuming it is a Windows Laptop?) that MQ is launched by the interactive user. I have seen some ocations where this caused problems with MQ Explorer (for MQ5.3).

As I said, I have created additional queue managers but its the same case. Its the same thing.
"Local Queue Manager;running but disconnected from mqexplorer"

I also did a re-installation of the mq-series but its the same thing again.

I opted only MQ-server/MQexplorer while installing the mqseries. Needless to say including the pre-requisite, Eclipse stuff. I didnt install client and JMS for SOAP.

Please gurus, need help. Thanks

I think this might be a security error.

Is your user in the mqm group? Is your user a local administrator?

Are there errors in the system log?

well, I uninstalled and installed it again.

Removed my username from MQM and added it back.

This time selected the java messaging feature which I didnt select last time. I thought java messaging is only used by JMS. That made the change. Now, I see the "connect" on the queue manager.

Thanks for me sticking on this for three days.
