It depends - 'local' or 'domain' installation?
And do, please, please, read the Knowledge Centre (as I keep recommending to you) because it's all in there. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

As my colleague say, there is a lot of EXTRA setup required when using MQ in a WINDOWS Domain setup if you want to use DOMAIN auth on users connecting to the QMGRS.
The steps are in the documentation. You need to review these and if you are using MQ in a Windows Domain then you need to give those instructions to your Domain Admins. Then they can do the required configuration for you. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Follow the documented instructions for preparing an installing MQ on Windows, you will be fine. Thousands of people have done it before you without consulting this forum.
On Windows, its not possible to create a local user with the same name as a local group. Windows MQ does not have a mqm user. _________________ Glenn |

If only that were true, sigh...
I understand your frustration but you also have to understand ours - the top posters on this site (and I am not including myself within that group) have accumulated their knowledge over time, and by reading, absorbing, assimilating, and applying; and undoubtedly also 'playing' in a sand-box environment.
Our frustration? We could spoon-feed you everything you want (the 'feed a man a fish' principle), or we can help and guide (the 'teach a man to fish' principle), but what about the next person whom is doing it for the first time? Do we parrot advice that has been given before, or do we take the line that we do, i.e. read, read, and read again?
This site should be a last resort, i.e. you have read 'the book', you have tried to understand it, but there is either some tiny detail that's been overlooked, or it just does not make sense to you, so you come here for help and advice; this site should not be a first resort. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
