At least they don't call it "core". _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Personally I would like to see a seperate z/OS (MVS, OS/390, mainframe) forum too.....it would give people with that/those platforms a single point of 'search'. MQ on z/OS is such a different beast and a few welll placed 'sticky notes' could stop a lot of questions from being asked over and over.
How about a "Tell me how to do my job" forum....or an "URGENT. Please help!" forum....that will save people from having type it in the title line (joking, honestly) |

Okay, Okay, I agree I was short-sighted when I only searched on z/OS.
I will take a "mainframes, OS/390, z/OS, MVS, CICS" forum under consideration |

Would a database forums be useful?
I mean you cannot say just db2 obviously BUT sometimes the problem is not MQ or its products but the database

I think we need to have WAS forum apart from ICS, MQ Security etc. There is no reason why MQ Series.net cannot become a favorite site for WAS folks as well. _________________ IBM Certified WMQ V5.3 System Administrator

Hi,
Actually, since there is a separate Java/JMS forum (from the API forum), I would like to see a .NET (aka C# & VB) forum.
I think that one would get lots of newbie traffic.
And then you could have fun with the puns, mqseries.NET forum!

I agree with the WAS part. WAS V6 platform messaging is a different beast from WMQ but it does have an MQLINK to WMQ. |

Patience, patience!
I'll wait for a few others to chime in on this and then hopefully I'll get it all setup next week... _________________ Brandon Duncan

Okay, here's what has made my shortlist:
WAS forum
Security/SSL forum
z/OS (MVS, OS/390, mainframe), CICS forum
Assuming there aren't any objections, I'll put them up this week, and remove the software repository forum (meaning I'll move the messages to other forums), remove the Tips and Tricks forum (meaning I'll move the messages to MQSeries FAQ), and we'll leave MQSeries FAQ off the chopping block for now. _________________ Brandon Duncan
