Hello,
Since a few time , we have an error message like as :
cannot fork: too many processes
when connecting with user mqm.
On this HP-UX Server we have installed MQSeries 5.3.05 and 5 qmgrs.
Is there a max number of process count for this mqm user or is there a configuration problem (qm.ini) on anyone of the qmgrs.
On the other side is there perhaps a kernel parameter to modify to solve this problem.
Can you help us on this problem.
Thanks. |

unable to fork new process usually indicates that you are having a problem with the paging space on the server not MQSeries. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

Hello ,
Thanks for your answer.
Just for a few minutes we have the same Problem. So we test all our parameters and the results are :
227 processes and 79 processes mqm
Our kernel configuration is :
nproc:16404
maxusers :2048
So we think there isn't a kernel Problem.
So perhaps have you an other idea.
Thanks. |

Hi,
I am not really sure, but wouldn't you get the same if your user limits are not sufficient/to low? I know on AIX the comand to see them is ulimit -a. There must be something equal on HP-UX.
cheers
