Hi,
I have defined an activity and assigned People(Staff 1) to have authority of the workItems in it....

Suppose user 'A' submits a workItem to this activity.....the users 'B' and 'C' who are assigned to this activity are able to view the workItems but they cannot do a submit.....

How can i fix this.....or is a dependancy that the person who creates can only submit the workitem ?????

If a user can see the work item if he is authorized, he has to transfer the work item to himself before he can do anything on it.

Elvis_gn: Part of your problems are that you do not use proper terminology. So we have to guess what you mean. Please pick up some of the manuals and try to use the MQWF terminology and we may be able to help you.

What does "submit" a workitem mean? Do you mean "checkout" an activity? Do you mean create an instance? I can not tell from what you have written.

Got ur point jmac,thanks.

Let me try to be clearer.....

User 'A' creats an instance and the first activity is set to authorize users 'A' , 'B' and 'C'....

All three have access to view the workItems....but if i try to do a checkIn of the workItems using user 'B' or 'C'....it tells me that i'm not authorized......

Is it that, the user who creates is the only one who can checkIn the workItem.....

How do i give them authority ????

You must indicate everything that you are doing. If I assume this is the case, the users B and C can never Checkin the workitem until they check it out.

IF you have assigned a process category, the users should be authorized for that category.

Once any user touches a workitem and checks it back inwith a failed exit condition, that user owns the activity, and other workitems for that activity will be disabled

Who are the owners for that activity. If B and C are not the owners, they cannot checkout/checkin with out first transferring to themselves.
