When we click on Forums-->Latest Posts, a list of new posts is displayed. All the links under the "Topics" heading are broken. This is because the URL contains additional characters "&highlight=". Kindly fix this so that navigation becomes easy.

The URL is getting constructed as

http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=xxxxx&highlight=

Since the link is broken, I have to go to a particular discussion category and then browse the topic from there. It would be helpful to know if others also face this problem. If no one else faces it, we could ignore it.

I am using IE 6 on WinXP but I dont know if that matters.

I am also using IE 6 on WinXP with no problems.
When I click on Latest Posts, I get this url:
http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/search.php?search_id=newposts

Then I click on this topic and it changes to:

Well, I'm using Mozilla Firefox 1.0 on a Win 2000 machine, and I don't even get the latest posts to show up when I put my mouse over forums. It works fine on IE, and now I'm wondering what else I might be missing.....

I have the same problem with Firefox. Mouse over on any of the toolbar items doesn't work. I was hoping to switch to Firefox exclusively but still have to use I.E. for MQSeries.net.

Charley & bower5932,

What you probably need is the plugin for Firefox about highlighting the url and changing its color once clicked. I'm using this on my home computer and don't seem to have any of the problems you're talking about.

Enjoy

They're complaining about the popup menus not working in Firefox.

I don't use them, so I don't notice that they're missing...

Jeff see what you mean. Don't like the popup behavior myself so I'm probably not missing any of it. Prefer to click on the menu item if I need the list...

Thanks for the clarification.

Is there any other way to get the view "Latest Posts"?
From I.E., I can mouse over 'Forums' on the toolbar and not only does it list all the forums, but the top item in the list is 'Latest Posts'. This is a nice feature to see what is new since I last looked at the BB.
From FireFox, a mouse over on 'Forums' does nothing so 'Latest Posts' is not available that I know of. I browsed the list of firefox extensions and I didn't see one that sounded promising. If you know which extension would allow the mouse over action, I sure would like to know.

Sorry Charley

I thought I'd get the drop down on clicking on the header in Firefox.
Apparently not.
I wonder if under Navigation -- SteamPowered Menu 0.4 might be what you are looking for. Haven't a clue what SteamPowered Menu's are...

Guy's if any of you knows the right extension/plug in let us know...

Thanks
F.J.

Hi,

Brandon coded the JavaScript for the menu items to be only active under IE. For any other browser, i.e. Netscape, Firefox, etc... the JavaScript does nothing.

Can you tell Firefox to report to web sites (or at least mqseries.net) that it is IE??

Although, Maxthon works just fine at mqseries.net Mathon is free and has most if not more features than Firefox (i.e. tabs, ad blocking, etc...).

Regards,
Roger Lacroix

So that people continue to think that IE is the most popular browser out there?

Why would I want to do that?

And, no, by the way. At least not without an extension.

I don't miss the pop-up menus, myself. I get to the forums from http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/index.php, and have no problems.

I don't use the "latest post" search, either.

YMMV.

I found a workaround that I can use.
Clicking on Latest Posts puts http://www.mqseries.net/phpBB2/search.php?search_id=newposts
in the url. I bookmarked this url and now I just launch MQSeries.net from this bookmark.
