Dear Santa,
Since I bought my Xmas gift on Monday, a Treo 600 and then signed up for a promo that offers an unlimited download plan, what I wish for Xmas is that mqseries.net be WAP enabled.
On Xmas eve, moments before Santa's arrival, please Santa, grant this one wish. I REALLY need this. Since I get dragged to countless meetings where I sit completely bored, please Santa, if I could surf on my Treo to mqseries.net and then I would keep my sanity in check.
Please Santa, I’ll be good next year, I swear, just grant me this one wish.
Warmest regards,
From the kid within me.
P.S. There's a Corona and a couple of double chocolate chip cookies waiting for you. |

Now Roger,
Where's the kid in you gone to? Really it should be milk and cookies.
You aren't one of those vicious cops trying to nail Santa on a DUI/DWI charge now?
Driking and driving even a sleigh.! And there I thought you were old enough to know better.
Just a little ribbing

Roger,
I have not seen a Treo myself, but WAP enabled??? Did you get it from the Christmas ghost of the past??
my GPRS enabled XDA-II smartphone (QTEK 2020) browses using IE and can view mqseries.net or any other site without problem... _________________ Michael

There seems to be a conflict here... maybe it's just me. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

what is conflicting?
the XDA-II is a smartphone with Pocket PC and runs pocket PC Internet explorer.
It can access any website as using normal Internet Explorer (ok the screen is not very big, so reading is not as comfortable, but it works...) _________________ Michael

I understood Jeff as saying "browsing using IE without problems". |

Hummmm. Society is so over-exposed by the media (and probably manipulated by it) that when the front pages no longer says WAP (today's thing is VOIP), people assume WAP is now passé. WAP is alive, growing and kicking.

I never said I had a problem browsing mqseries.net but rather I wanted mqseries.net to be WAP enabled. Treo comes with the Blazer Web Browser. It can render mqseries.net just fine. The Treo has a 160x160 color screen but any small-screened device (even yours at 240x320) cannot do a wide web pages justice. I mean seriously, the buttons on the menu bar 125x20 each (and there are 5 of them)!!!!
Secondly, WAP is NOT about browsers that cannot render a web page but rather having content that is designed (including buttons) for small-screened devices. The other major feature of WAP is that the download size is reduced because wireless downloading is not broadband downloading.
Now to email. I set it up to pull email from all of my accounts and this is getting soooooo additive. The multiple account setup works really well. It's a good thing that I have unlimited download for 3 months but now I see how they hook you!!!!.
Regards,

Hi,
Interesting but bought QuickNews for my Treo awhile ago and I'm loving the RSS feeds.
